Athlete Profile & Content Policy

In Her Element is a platform dedicated to celebrating and documenting women in sports. We create profiles for women athletes using publicly available information, the same information that appears in sports media, official league records, and published journalism. This policy explains our standards, your rights, and how to work with us.

Athlete profiles on IHE are built using:

• Publicly available career data: statistics, team history, achievements
• Editorial and press photography licensed through Getty Images and similar sources
• Published interviews, articles, and official team or league records

We do not use private information, and we do not publish content that has not been publicly documented elsewhere.

All athlete images on IHE are sourced under editorial licensing. Our standards:

• Editorial, press, or award event portraits are preferred
• Images with visible brand logos (jersey sponsors, equipment branding) are avoided in marketplace contexts
• Getty Images Sport collection is the primary source
• No image is used without a valid editorial license

Profiles that have not been claimed or verified by the athlete are marked as unclaimed. They:

• Are built from public data only
• Do not imply endorsement or affiliation
• Can be claimed, corrected, or removed at the athlete's request

Athletes who complete IHE's verification process receive a verified badge on their profile and gain access to:

• Direct editing and management of their profile content
• The ability to connect a marketplace presence (Phase 2)
• Priority support for content updates

Verification is initiated through our Instagram DM flow. Details are available at inherelement.com/for-athletes.

Request a correction

If any information on your profile is inaccurate, contact us via the contact form (select Athlete → Edit Something on My Profile). We review and address correction requests within [X business days].

Claim your profile

Initiate verification through our Instagram flow to take ownership of your profile.

Request removal

If you wish to have your profile removed from IHE, contact us at [athletes@inherelement.com]. We will process removal requests within 30 days. Note that removal means your profile will no longer appear on IHE, it does not affect public records or third-party coverage of your career.

Agents and management representatives acting on behalf of athletes must:

• Confirm they are authorized to act for the athlete
• Provide accurate information in all submissions
• Be prepared to provide proof of representation if requested

Unauthorized claims or submissions made without athlete consent may result in removal from the platform and legal liability.

We take content disputes seriously. All disputes are reviewed within [X business days] and resolved within 30 days where possible.

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date reflects the most recent revision. Athletes with verified profiles will be notified of material changes.
