kelsey's story
Kelsey Mitchell came to basketball through an unusual path — she was primarily a soccer player until late in high school, when she picked up basketball seriously. That late start made what came next even more remarkable.
At Ohio State she became one of the most prolific scorers in Big Ten history, averaging over 22 points per game in her final season. The Indiana Fever selected her with the 6th pick in the 2018 WNBA Draft. She won Olympic gold with Team Canada at the Tokyo Games in 2020 and has developed into one of the most dynamic scoring guards in the WNBA.
Mitchell plays with fearlessness and creativity — she takes shots that other players wouldn't attempt and makes them at a rate that commands respect. She is a key reason why the Fever have been building toward contention.
